The first meeting of the new year will be 15 September. All are welcome.
We shall look at the Cicero’s “De Senectute” until Christmas, translating sections by leader, class members and groups.
There will also be a Presentation each month by members on different aspects of Roman and Greek History and life. The Cambridge Latin Course, Book 5, will be the base study book. We shall translate each passage, and use the accompanying grammar sections as revision practice.
Wherever appropriate, we shall be looking at current English usage in the media, where the Latin grammatical influence is present – or absent!
