All members of U3A will be made welcome at our monthly meetings. All you need is a love of jazz and the company of others. Bring along a drink or some nibbles to enjoy while we sit and listen to the jazz. In March and October we enjoy a live event at Aughton Village Hall when tickets are on sale at Horizons and Jazz Appreciation meetings.
18 September – We begin a new season with a selection of tracks from Keith Lamb.
16 October – ‘The Wirrorleans Jazz Band’ are in concert at Aughton Village Hall, 8.00 – 11.00 p.m. Tickets, at £7 each, are now on sale. Don’t miss this chance to hear a live band in our own village.
20 November – Keith entertains us once more with his eclectic selections of music – who knows what he will find for our delectation.
Everyone is welcome to attend Jazz Appreciation, just come along.

Keith Lamb receiving a special certificate after 10 years as leader
Keith Lamb has been the Jazz Appreciation Group’s leader and main presenter for almost ten years. At the May meeting he played his final number in this role but will return in November as our guest. Members echoed the appreciation expressed by John Butterworth, who presented Keith with a special certificate.
Although U3A (unlike the regular University sector) does not require its members to have any qualifications nor does it award any degrees or certificates normally, the group felt the Keith well justified the title of “Professor of Jazz Appreciation”.
We will miss his music, stories and humour. Thank you Keith from us all.
