Recorder Playing

Did you play recorder at school? Would you like to try it again in a group of mixed ability members?

Did you learn to play the recorder in school?

Perhaps you were a teacher and took your recorder playing a little further?

Do you still have a recorder?  If not, this isn’t a problem as we have two spare descant recorders to lend.

A small group of enthusiasts, some more experienced than others, but all learning together, are tackling pieces old and new, two-part harmonies, rounds and simple traditional pieces.

Greensleeves sounds wonderfully plaintive, Now is the Month of May-ing is chirpy and rousing, Mozart and Ragtime, the list is endless.

Quote from one of our members ‘now I know what has been missing from my retirement – making music’.

We are playing simple pieces, two-part and rounds as well as just ‘tunes’. We are hoping that either a guitar or keyboard player might come to play with us, to give an extra dimension to the sounds that we make.

Tony Crimlisk is joining us on 10 September as our first guest accompanist. Are there any more offers?

Come and have fun playing music twice each month.
