We aim to explore Merseyside’s heritage history and culture through visits to historic sites, museums and places of interest in Liverpool and the North West.

The Occasional Tours group is open to all members. Bookings must be made in person at Horizons. Members may book up to 4 places but must pay by cash or cheque in advance, and provide a telephone number for each reservation.

For up to date information, please continue to check the website, the notice board at HQ or talk to the Leader or Coordinator at their desk during Horizons.

Wednesday 16 and 30 September:
A guided walk around Liverpool’s famous Chinatown, including a visit to The Pagoda community centre, where our guide has arranged some entertainment.

Both dates are now fully booked!

Wednesday 14 October: Two museums: a morning visit to the Victoria Gallery and Museum in Brownlow Hill. Then we have lunch. Afternoon visit is to the Garstang Archaeology Museum, Abercromby Square, part of Liver­pool University Archaeology department. Free admission to both museums. Travel by train to Liverpool.

Booking opens 10 September.

Wednesday, 28 Octo­ber (half term): Ride on a steam train from Rawtenstall to Bury. Coach travel from Ormskirk to Rawtenstall. Morning coffee at Ramsbottom. Lunch and shopping at Bury market or visit Bury Transport Museum. £18.00.
