The Understanding Tomorrow’s World Discussion Group was started as a response to a talk given by Dr. Alex McMinn to the Aughton & Ormskirk U3A where he reviewed technology developments, with a focus on the fields of information technology and the human genome project, and speculated how they may affect the future: particularly of “third-agers”.

The group uses books, documents, lectures and videos, mostly freely available from the internet, to study a particular topic and then holds a discussion on our findings and the implications of the chosen technology.
