The title ‘5-a-side’ has become something of a misnomer, as we reached 8-a-side recently, until ‘Health & Safety’ at Burscough urged us to return to a maximum of 6-a-side. Our playing numbers vary from week to week but, because of its popularity, we are getting at least 15 players most weeks, which can reach to 18 or 19.
This often entails a somewhat complicated arrangement of THREE teams of SIX, with two teams playing an eight to ten minute game, when one team is replaced by team 3. Therefore, we have had to install a WAITING LIST.
Our numbers held up well during the summer but we were able to give our ‘one-man’ waiting list a chance to play,
If you feel the need to try ‘footy’ again; and view the new fad of ‘walking football’ at Edge Hill with disdain, then please contact the Leader or Coordinator to start a new ‘waiting list’.
